Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Noel Ahern — the privatisation of the local loans fund; and the short and long term effect it will have on the financial operation and future funding of capital projects by local authorities; (2) Deputy Connor — the need for additional funds to be allocated for the road network in County Roscommon in view of damage caused by exceptionally heavy rainfall in recent months; (3) Deputy P. Gallagher (Laoighis-Offaly)— the urgent need to introduce a programme of education and training for those in the judicial system, including lawyers and members of the Judiciary, involved in cases of sexual crimes against children; (4) Deputy Seán Kenny — the application for funding under the EU urban initiative by Dublin Corporation and the Ballymun, Finglas and Northside Partnerships; (5) Deputy Eric Byrne — the urgent need for Ireland to press for the despatch of an EU delegation of human rights monitors to Turkey, in particular, the Kurdish regions in south east Turkey, to assess the situation and report to Governments of the EU; (6) Deputy Connaughton — the need to have the Mater Dei institute included in the scheme to abolish third level fees; (7) Deputy Raphael Burke — the need for approval to be given to enable the contract for Fingal community college, Swords, County Dublin, go to tender; (8) Deputy Tom Kitt — the preparations made for the presidential visit to Argentina; (9) Deputy Ned O'Keeffe — the problems created by new age travellers tresspassing on private lands in the Ballyhooley area of east Cork; (10) Deputy Broughan — the need to have the north-side of Dublin, in particular, Coolock, Darndale, Ballymun and Finglas selected as one of the Irish city regions for the purposes of the EU urban initiative programme; (11) Deputy Kathleen Lynch — the urgent need for increased protection of non-EU migrant workers, in particular those employed off-shore by EU sub-contractors; (12) Deputy Molloy — the case of a person (details supplied) who has been severely physically and mentally handicapped as a result of a whooping cough vaccination; and the need to clarify whether the vaccine administered to him was from batch 3741; and (13) Deputy O'Donoghue — comments made by Deputy Emmet Stagg, Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Energy and Communications in relation to travellers on a programme on RTE on Monday, 27 March.

The matters raised by Deputies Eric Byrne, Noel Ahern, Ned O'Keeffe and John O'Donoghue, have been selected for discussion.
