Vol. 451 No. 2

Written Answers. - Handbag Snatchers.

Pat Upton

Question:

105 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Justice the total number of handbag snatching cases for each year since 1990; the main area in which these incidents took place; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [6421/95]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that there is no single crime category of handbag snatching and, as such, the information sought by the Deputy is not readily available and could be obtained only by the expenditure of a disproportionate amount of Garda time and resources.
