Vol. 451 No. 4

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Programme Manager Appointments.

Máire Geoghegan-Quinn

Question:

29 Mrs. Geoghegan-Quinn asked the Minister for the Marine the role, functions, powers and job descriptions of all programme managers appointed to his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4190/95]

Michael Woods

Question:

96 Dr. Woods asked the Minister for the Marine the number of programme managers who have been appointed to his Department; and the number of these appointees who are women. [4312/95]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 29 and 96 together.

No programme manager has been formally appointed at my Department although a programme manager has been designated pending finalisation of a contract.

The programme manager assists in managing and co-ordinating the achievement of the Government's objectives as set out in the policy document, A Government of Renewal. The programme manager provides administrative back-up to assist me in the achievement of those objectives. He is, in addition, required to perform any duties assigned to him from time to time as appropriate to his position.
