Vol. 451 No. 4

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Sile de Valera — the future plans, if any, for the Mullaghmore area of County Clare in view of the recent decision not to proceed with the Mullaghmore interpretative centre; (2) Deputy O'Rourke — the circumstances surrounding Shannon Aerospace and the plans, if any, to consolidate and maintain the 750 jobs in the company; (3) Deputy Shortall — the urgent need for the commencement of section 41 of the Road Traffic Act, 1994, in order to tackle the serious problem of joyriding; (4) Deputy Lynch — the urgent need for increased protection of non-EU migrant workers, in particular those employed off-shore by EU subcontractors.

All four matters are considered to be in order and have been selected. For the information of Members the Deputies will be taken in the following order: Deputies O'Rourke, Lynch, Sile de Valera and Shortall.
