Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefits.

Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

39 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Health if a person (details supplied) in County Cork who is in receipt of disabled persons maintenance allowance of £61 per week will qualify for receipt of butter vouchers of £61 per week. [7757/95]

Limerick East): The current personal rate of disabled persons maintenance allowance is £61 per week. disabled persons maintenance allowance recipients are entitled to two butter vouchers per month which are valued at 51p each and must be used to purchase butter. They are also entitled to butter vouchers in respect of each dependent.

The supply of butter vouchers in any individual case is a matter for the health board concerned. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer, Southern Health Board with a request that he examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
