Vol. 452 No. 2

Written Answers. - Public Service Vehicle Licences.

Ivor Callely

Question:

39 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for the Environment if he will consult with interested parties regarding any proposed changes in the regulations for public service vehicle licences; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7611/95]

In conjunction with the review of the regulations governing the system of licensing taxis and hackneys, I have met representatives of taxi and hackney interests and have received written submissions from other interests and individuals. The review of the regulations, and the consultation process, has now been concluded and I intend to make decisions as soon as possible on the various issues which arise. In doing so, I will take full account of the views of the various interest groups.
