Vol. 452 No. 2

Written Answers. - Home Help Scheme.

Mary Wallace

Question:

67 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for Health the figures to which he referred in his statement on 1 March 1995, at column 2066 of the Official Report when he stated that there was no relation between the rates of pay and the level of participation in home help schemes. [7807/95]

Limerick East): In dealing with the subject of the home help scheme during Question Time in the House on 1 March this year, I was asked in a supplementary question by Deputy Smith if the figures available suggested a correlation between the rates of payment and the number of people participating in the scheme in each health board area. I replied (column 2066) that I had not seen any figures to suggest such a correlation. It has now been confirmed to me that there is no such correlation.
