Written Answers. - County Monaghan Public Water Schemes.

James Leonard

Question:

104 Mr. Leonard asked the Minister for the Environment the number of applications for water grants for public water schemes for County Monaghan currently awaiting sanction in his Department. [8024/95]

Proposals relating to three public water schemes in County Monaghan are active at present.

Revised contract documents for trial wells to augment the Monaghan water supply have very recently been received by my Department from Monaghan Urban District Council and are being examined. A brief for the Carrickmacross water scheme was submitted to my Department earlier this year by Carrickmacross Urban District Council and are being examined. My Department has requested Castleblayney Urban District Council to review the preliminary report for the proposed Castleblayney water supply scheme and to provide additional information.
