I have received a number of representations and submissions recently in regard to the situation affecting cross-Border workers including a detailed submission from the Irish European Cross-Border Workers' Association. These representations and submissions are being examined by the committee, made up of officials from my Department and the Revenue Commissioners, which I established to look into all the issues involved with regard to cross-Border taxation.
However, as has been stated many times before, this is a very complex area, involving two jurisdictions, and the examination of the issues will take some time. Furthermore, there is no guarantee that the committee would recommend any changes which would alter the treatment of cross-Border workers.
