90 Ms Keogh asked the Minister for Health if he will examine the plight of approximately 200 mildly mentally handicapped young people who are ineligible for disabled person's maintenance allowance or unemployment benefit and who obtain only an attendance allowance while at special training centres. [7632/95]

Limerick East): I am pleased to inform the Deputy that persons with a disability involved in vocational rehabilitation training who are ineligible for disabled person's maintenance allowance would be eligible for unemployment assistance under section 73 (3) of the Social Welfare (Consolidation Payments Provisions) Regulations, 1994.
