Vol. 453 No. 4

Written Answers. - Ballina (Mayo) Drainage Scheme.

Tom Moffatt

Question:

96 Dr. Moffatt asked the Minister for the Environment if he will sanction the preliminary report in relation to Ballina, County Mayo, main drainage phase two, which includes the elimination of flooding problems on the Swinford Road which would make 50 acres of land available in the Ardnaree-Shanaghy area and open up land for development along the Killuea Road which would also alleviate the sewage problem in the Crocketstown or quay area and prevent pollution of the River Moy. [9541/95]

Having regard to the existing level of commitments under the water and sewerage schemes programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve this scheme.
