115 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of social welfare recipients in County Louth broken down between allowances and pensions and other such payments for each of the last five years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9495/95]
The estimated number of recipients in County Louth, broken down by type of social welfare payment, in each of the last five years is set out in the following table:
Data for those in receipt of an unemployment payment are compiled by reference to the location of the social welfare local office rather than the area of residence. Figures for County Louth, therefore, include those registered as unemployed at the Department's local offices in Drogheda, Dundalk and Ardee.
