Vol. 453 No. 5

Written Answers. - Donegal School Appointment.

Mary Coughlan

Question:

83 Miss Coughlan asked the Minister for Education when a decision will be made by her regarding an application by the Abbey vocational school, Donegal town, for an additional vice-principal post; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [9565/95]

My Department does not appear to have received an application from Abbey vocational school, Donegal town for an additional vice-principal post.

A special vice-principal post has been allocated to post-primary schools in the free education scheme with enrolments of 1,000 or more pupils and to all schools designated disadvantaged with enrolments in excess of 900 pupils. The appointments will take effect from the beginning of the 1995-96 school year.
Abbey vocational school, Donegal town, does not qualify for the allocation of a special vice-principal post in accordance with the above criteria.
