Vol. 454 No. 2

Written Answers. - Review of Conviction.

Noel Davern

Question:

69 Mr. Davern asked the Minister for Justice if the review of the conviction of a person (details supplied) for the murder at Marlhill, New Inn, County Tipperary, has been completed; and when the findings of that review will be released. [10472/95]

The advice of the Attorney General has been sought on important legal issues which arise in connection with a posthumous pardon. The Deputy will appreciate, that given the lengthy period which has elapsed since the person was executed and the need to locate and research available documentation relating to the case, this matter will take considerable time to complete. When this has been done there will be no avoidable delay on my part in finalising the matter.
