72 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry in relation to the reappointment of persons (details supplied) to the board of Bord na gCon, the date the order of appointment was signed; the name of the person who signed the order; and the date on which the appointment came into effect. The order of appointment was signed on 13 December, 1994 by the then Minister, Deputy Joe Walsh.
The effective date of the appointments was 31 December 1994. I regret that in the reply to written Question No. 124 of 1 June 1995 it was inadvertently stated that I had made the appointments. This was because of the fact that, while the appointments were decided prior to the change of Government, they came into effect after its establishment. In preparing the reply to the original question all the appointments which came into effect within the term of the new Government were inadvertently included as having been made in its period in office.
