Written Answers. - Dublin-Belfast Economic Corridor.

Mary Wallace

Question:

71 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade the efforts, if any, which are being made to take advantage of the Dublin/Belfast economic corridor in view of the recent CBI/IBEC report. [10808/95]

David Andrews

Question:

169 Mr. Andrews asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade the efforts, if any, which are being made to take advantage of the Dublin/Belfast economic corridor in view of the recent CBI/IBEC report. [10934/95]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 71 and 169 together.

I understand that the conclusions of the study to which the Deputy refers are still being considered by a special task force established by the IBEC/CBI Northern Ireland Joint Council.

I look forward to examining the joint council's findings, particularly in the context of the new climate brought about by the peace process and the Government's ongoing efforts to develop cross-Border trade and to enhance and further develop existing economic linkages between North and South.
