Question:

88 Mr. Mulvihill asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs the projects and the amounts of money which have already received approval for lottery funding for which the funding has not yet been paid. [10919/95]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 86, 87 and 88 together.

Since 1988, funds from the national lottery have been allocated to my Department for the promotion of Irish cultural activities abroad. In 1994, the Exchequer supplemented the lottery allocation of £250,000 by £150,000, bringing the total allocation for cultural relations with other countries to £400,000. This year, the national lottery will contribute £220,000 and the Exchequer £180,000. There is no difference between the activities funded under the G.1, national lottery and G.2, Exchequer sub-heads.

A sum of £600,000 from national lottery funds was in addition given for disaster relief in developing countries in 1991.

In the cultural area the amounts of lottery funding disbursed by my Department for each of the years 1990 to 1994 is as follows:

1990 :

£438,096.69

1991 :

£422,520.64

1992 :

£212,864.13

1993 :

£212,467.77

1994 :

£399,978.84*

1995 :

£232.276.72* (paid out to date).

* Includes funds provided direct from the Exchequer.
Funding towards some 130 projects, in the amount of £244,909.71, has been approved and will be paid as the criteria allowing funds to be drawn down are satisfied in each case.
The further detailed information sought by the Deputy is voluminous. I will have it sent to him in the form he has requested.
