95 Mrs. Geoghegan-Quinn asked the Minister for Health the number of special advisers, programme managers and consultants employed by his Department; the names of each of the persons or companies involved; the remuneration in each case, whether on a contract or a specific project basis; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Limerick East): There are three special advisers and one programme manager currently employed in my Department. They are: Mr. Richard Greene as my programme manager at a cost of £43,752 per annum; Ms Mary Kenny as my special adviser at a cost of £34,111 per annum; Dr. Thomas Hannigan as special adviser to Deputy Austin Currie, Minister of State at my Department, at a cost of £29,471 per annum; Mr. Declan Coppinger as special adviser to Deputy Brian O'Shea, Minister of State at my Department, at a cost of £25,475 per annum. The following table sets out the situation in my Department on consultancy and costs.
There are a total of 15 consultants currently employed by the Department of Health. The following table gives their names and their estimated total remuneration for 1995.
