Vol. 454 No. 6

Written Answers. - School Transport.

John O'Leary

Question:

150 Mr. O'Leary asked the Minister for Education if she will approve the proposed primary school transport scheme from the Maulykevane area to Annabla national school, Kilcummin, County Kerry; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [11411/95]

I understand that there are seven children currently offering for transport from the Maulykevane area of which only four are eligible for transport. The remaining three children are ineligible for transport on age-distance grounds.

As this is below the average daily number of ten eligible children required, it is not open to my Department to sanction the establishment of a service as sought.
