Vol. 454 No. 6

Written Answers. - Foyle Fisheries Commission.

James McDaid

Question:

207 Dr. McDaid asked the Minister for the Marine if the McBride Principles are being observed by the Foyle Fisheries Commission; and if he will give a breakdown of employment. [11312/95]

I am advised that the Foyle Fisheries Commission is fully aware, and takes due account, of the McBride Principles as guidelines in the area of equality of employment and equal opportunity. The commission is also and primarily, required to comply with all relevant national and EU employment legislation. I am satisfied that in relation to the current staff complement of 35, 11 of whom are temporary, the commission takes full cognisance of all relevant equality guidelines and obligations.
