Question:119 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht if he will give a commitment to fund the establishment of an Armada Heritage Centre at Grange, County Sligo. [11323/95]
Written Answers. - Sligo Armada Heritage Centre.
I understand that the National Heritage Council has not received a formal application in respect of the funding of an Armada Heritage Centre at Grange, County Sligo. However, an application for grant assistance may be made to the new statutory Heritage Council which I will be appointing shortly. The question of whether or not grant assistance will be awarded will be a matter for the new council which will be completely independent in this regard.
