Question:12 Mr. M. Ahern asked the Minister for Defence the overall cost of overtime payments in his Department and in the State-sponsored bodies under the aegis of his Department. [9408/95]
Written Answers. - Overtime Payments.
There is a provision of £640,000 in respect of overtime in the 1995 vote for the Department. Of this amount, £300,000 is allocated to cover overtime worked by the Civil Service staff of the Department, with £340,000 being provided in respect of civilian employees engaged with the Defence Forces.
In the period 1 January to 31 May 1995 the overall cost of overtime payments was £237,936: £108,578 in respect of Civil Service staff and £129,358 in respect of civilian employees.
