Vol. 454 No. 8

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Mary Wallace

Question:

63 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the current position regarding the upgrading of an on-farm dairying facilities application dated 20 October 1994, and a pollution grant application dated 11 January 1995, for a person (details supplied) in County Meath; and if this person can proceed with the work before October 1995. [11562/95]

This applicant's dairy hygiene application is currently being investigated by the farm development service field officer with a view to issue of approval for work to be undertaken.

His application under the control of farm pollution scheme was received in the local office on 18 January 1995 and had not been processed when the scheme was suspended on 27 April 1995. As I indicated to the House recently the position regarding applications received between 1 January 1995 and 27 April 1995 will be reviewed in September.

Thomas Foxe

Question:

64 Mr. T. Foxe asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the plans, if any, he has to grant concessions to people who mistakenly applied in 1994 for only one of the headage or suckler cow grants instead of applying for both on separate forms in view of the fact that dual forms are again being used in 1995. [11590/95]

In 1993 and 1994 there were separate application forms for the cattle headage beef cow schemes and the EU suckler premium schemes. Application forms for the schemes were posted directly to all herdowners with separate help sheets/terms and conditions advising applicants on how to submit the various forms.

Unfortunately a producer cannot be considered for payment under the European Union regulations unless an application form is submitted. The responsibility must rest with the applicant to ensure that the correct application form is lodged with the Department.
