172 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the international treaties and conventions he intends to sign; the number that have been signed; the number that have been signed but not ratified; the number signed which have been ratified but have not been put into force; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Since my Department was established on 21 January 1993 a total of 14 international treaties and conventions have been signed. Of these six have yet to be ratified. All treaties and conventions which have been signed and ratified are in force. There are eight international treaties and conventions awaiting signature by my Department.
