Vol. 455 No. 3

Written Answers - Castlerea Psychiatric Facilities.

Tom Moffatt

Question:

35 Dr. Moffatt asked the Minister for Health if the recent decision to defer the Castlerea prison project will have an impact on the psychiatric patients therein at the present time; and if the envisaged psychiatric developments of the Western Health Board in that town will go ahead. [11984/95]

Limerick East): The recent decision of the Minister for Justice to defer the Castlerea prison project will not have any impact on the provision of services for psychiatric patients presently resident in the hospital. The provision of psychiatric facilities in Castlerea town is under way and will not be affected by the decision to defer the prison project.
