Vol. 455 No. 3

Written Answers - Cancer Treatment.

Batt O'Keeffe

Question:

44 Mr. B. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Health if there is a unified approach to the treatment of ovarian cancer within all of the health boards. [11162/95]

Limerick East): I am advised that the treatment of ovarian cancer is fairly standardised and uniform nationally. Ovarian cancer is primarily treated through surgery with adjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The use of chemotherapy and radiotherapy is becoming more important in the treatment of ovarian cancer and is under continuous medical review.
