Vol. 455 No. 3

Written Answers - Storage of Sperm and Ova.

Liz O'Donnell

Question:

82 Ms O'Donnell asked the Minister for Health the plans, if any, he has to introduce facilities for the storage of sperm and ova in view of recent developments in the field of assisted reproduction; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12156/95]

Limerick East): The area of in-vitro fertilisation and assisted reproduction generally is governed by guidelines issued by the Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and approved by the Medical Council. I have no plans to introduce facilities for the storage of sperm and ova.
