Vol. 455 No. 5

Written Answers. - Dublin 9 Crime.

Jim Mitchell

Question:

103 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for Justice if her attention has been drawn to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 9 who has written many times to her Department regarding crime in the area and on each occasion has received an acknowledgement and then never gets any further reply; if she will see to it that all letters are replied to substantially; and if she will have arrangements made for a senior official of her Department to see the person concerned. [12472/95]

The person in question has been in correspondence with my Department since 1993 regarding crime in general and the provision of a fence at the rear of his house in particular. Replies, as opposed to acknowledgements, have issued to him in relation to the matters on the following dates: 19 July 1994, 30 November 1994, 14 March 1995, 23 March 1995 and 30 May 1995.

Two further letters dated 30 May and 10 June 1995 received from him are receiving attention and a reply will issue shortly.
