88 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for the Environment if he will give details of each group water supply scheme application which currently lies with his Department; the date on which the applications were received; if he will give an estimate of the total amount of grants involved and the amount of money provided for group water supply scheme grants in 1995; and if he will make a statement on the matter. A total of £4.5 million is being provided for group water schemes in 1995. This includes European Union co-financing of some £1 million for the provision of certain large scale schemes which contribute to the development of rural areas.

Up to 200 group scheme proposals are at a reasonably advanced stage of planning. These proposals involve new schemes and renewal works on existing schemes and represent an aggregate grant demand of some £15 million.

The additional detailed information requested is being compiled and will be forwarded to the Deputy as soon as possible.
