Vol. 455 No. 8

Written Answers. - School Transport.

Éamon Ó Cuív

Question:

207 Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Education whether she is willing to provide a minibus service (details supplied) to bring pupils from Cappamore Cross to Seamount College, Kinvara, County Galway, as proposed in a letter by the Transport Liaison Officer for Galway on 25 October 1994; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [12999/95]

School transport service for pupils attending Seamount College, Kinvara was extended to Cappamore last year to facilitate seven eligible pupils from the area offering for transport. Travelling and waiting times for these pupils, and distance from the pick-up point are within my Department's guidelines.

As the pupils in question are currently availing of an adequate level of service in the context of the general operation of the scheme, and as extra cost would be involved, the provision of an additional service could not be justified.
