265 Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for Justice the number of proceedings under the Guardianship of Infants Act, 1964, initiated in the High Court for each of the years between 1986 and 1995. [12940/95]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 262, 263, 264 and 265 together. The statistics sought by the Deputy in so far as they are available are set out in the following table. Court statistics are compiled on the basis of the legal year which runs from 1 August to 31 July. The information requested in respect of the years 1991 to 1994 is not readily available but is being sought. I will do my utmost to have this information made available to the Deputy within two weeks but the Deputy should be aware that the compilation of these statistics may take a little longer in some cases.
