Question:

405 Mr. B. Ahern asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the primary energy supplied from each source such as oil, coal, gas, peat and other sources in the latest year for which figures are available; and the way in which this compares with the situation in 1980. [13287/95]

Details of the contribution of each fuel to the Total Primary Energy Requirement of Ireland are contained in the Energy in Ireland 1980-1993, A Statistical Bulletin published by the Department of Transport, Energy and Communications in November 1994.

The contribution of each fuel to the total primary energy requirement for 1980 and 1993, which are the most recent data available, is as follows:—
