Vol. 456 No. 2

Written Answers. - New Laois School.

Liam Hyland

Question:

74 Mr. Hyland asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the urgency of providing a new school (details supplied) at Shangannamore, County Laois; and if she will give an indication as to when work is likely to commence. [13652/95]

Officials from the primary buildings branch of my Department met with representatives of the school's board of management on 20 July 1995. At that meeting my Department agreed in principle to grant-aid the provision of a new school at Shangannamore.

This project will be considered for inclusion in my Department's next capital buildings programme in the light of other commitments and priorities. At this stage I cannot give a realistic estimate as to when the work will commence.
