Written Answers. - Car Import Duty.

Liam Aylward

Question:

45 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Finance if he will reopen the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny, regarding the import duty paid on a car in 1990 and afford the persons concerned the opportunity of appealing their case by way of an oral hearing with officials in the relevant section of his Department. [13992/95]

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that they are prepared to afford the persons concerned an opportunity of a meeting to discuss their case with the relevant officials in Revenue. The commissioners will also consider the case in the light of whatever new information or documentation is tendered at the time. Arrangements can be made by contacting the Higher Officer, VRT Exemptions, Customs & Excise, Burnfoot, Lifford, County Donegal — (Telephone 077-68253.
