Vol. 456 No. 8

Written Answers. - Access Facilities for Disabled Children.

Mary Wallace

Question:

50 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for Education the number of schools that have applied for grants-in-aid to improve access for children with disabilities in each of the last seven years; the amount granted; the average time between receipt of applications and the making of decisions; and the average time between the making of such applications and the completion of work. [14733/95]

The detailed information requested by the Deputy is not readily available in the Department. However, I would like to assure her that applications made by school authorities requesting access facilities for children with disabilities are dealt with expeditiously and every effort is made to meet the requirements of the schools within the capital resources available to the Department.
