Question:

69 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the average weekly payment to community employment scheme participants; and the amount by which it exceeds that received on the basis of their previous social welfare status. [14804/95]

The average weekly payment to existing community employment, CE, participants is currently £100.17. The average weekly payment for those CE participants if they were still in receipt of social welfare payments is estimated at £71.15.

70 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if he is satisfied that the ICTU has fulfilled its commitment as given in the Programme for Competitiveness and Work to facilitate and co-operate with community employment schemes in local authorities. [14805/95]

I am satisfied every effort is being made by ICTU to facilitate projects in local authorities in line with the commitment in the Programme for Competitiveness and Work and through their involvement in monitoring CE projects.
