Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Eric Byrne — The need to establish a joint task force between the Garda and the Revenue Commissioners to trace illegal profits from drug dealing; (2) Deputy Michael Kitt — The decision to seek refunds from farmers in respect of 1994 extensification premiums or to deduct the amount with interest from 1995 special schemes payments; (3) Deputy Cowen — The failure to negotiate a package to help the food sector to combat its sterling disadvantage; (4) Deputy O'Donnell — The alleged sexual abuse of patients in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda by a hospital consultant; the procedures surrounding an internal hospital inquiry into the matter; and the procedures in place generally in hospitals for dealing with such allegations; (5) Deputy Batt O'Keeffe — The need for an investigation into the operation of a Cork city nursing home in view of allegations of a lack of care for the elderly in the home; and (6) Deputy Killeen — The need for an additional allocation for the agricultural office in Ennis, County Clare to enable it to fully administer schemes under the farm development service.

The matters raised by Deputies O'Donnell, Batt O'Keeffe, Cowen and Killeen have been selected for discussion.
