Vol. 457 No. 3

Written Answers. - Technology Needs of DPP's Office.

Liz O'Donnell

Question:

56 Ms O'Donnell asked the Minister for Finance the scope and findings of a Department of Finance report into the technology needs of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions; the main recommendations of the report; and the action, if any, which was taken or is planned. [13523/95]

No such report exists. However, at the request of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, the Central IT Services of my Department is at present assisting that office in the design and development of a computer system to cater for file registration, case tracking, and case management. The analysis work commenced in May of this year. This is proceeding satisfactorily and it is hoped to have the system in place in mid 1996.
