Question:94 Mr. Power asked the Minister for Justice if she will consider the introduction of jobsharing for the Garda Síochána. [15279/95]
Written Answers. - Garda Síochána Job-Sharing.
I understand that both the Garda Representative Association and the Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors have claims for the introduction of job-sharing for their respective ranks before the Garda Conciliation Council at present.
As the Deputy is aware, the Scheme of Conciliation and Arbitration for the Garda Síochana provides the relevant machinery for the processing of claims concerning,inter alia, hours of duty for members of the Force. Under the terms of the scheme, the proceedings of the council are confidential and it would not be appropriate for me to comment further.
