157 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Education if she is prepared to sanction the appointment of eligible part-time teachers to a school (details supplied) in County Tipperary as a result of additional hours that have been made available; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Applications for eligible part-time teacher, EPT, status in respect of part-time teachers employed in secondary schools must normally be submitted before 1 October.

To date my Department has not received a formal application for EPT status in respect of any part-time teacher employed by the school referred to by the Deputy.
