92 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Health his views on the use of in vitro fertilisation for single women in Ireland; the locations and availability of in vitro fertilisation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15461/95]

Limerick East): The practice of in vitro fertilisation is governed by guidelines set by the Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and approved by the Medical Council in respect of married couples only. IVF is currently available in Ireland through the human assisted reproduction unit at the Rotunda Hospital, Dublin and at University College Hospital Galway.
