Vol. 457 No. 6

Written Answers. - Survey of General Practitioners.

Liz O'Donnell

Question:

66 Ms O'Donnell asked the Minister for health if he has given a commitment to have a national survey of general practice carried out which would establish the current workload and skill level of the country's general practitioners; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15899/95]

Limerick East): As part of the implementation of the health strategy, the Department has proposed that a national survey of general practice should be carried out as soon as possible.

I am not in a position to indicate to the Deputy the format and content of the survey as these have yet to be finalised in discussions with the various interests involved.
