Question:201 Mr. B. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Education the number of Leaving Certificate papers which were rechecked this year; and the number of those which had alterations made to their overall marks. [15869/95]

A total of 8,930 leaving certificate answerbooks were rechecked this year. The total number of these which were upgraded was 1,018. The number upgraded includes 359 in art which were upgraded following a special review of the work of a particular examiner.
