Vol. 457 No. 7

Written Answers. - County Cork School Extension.

Peter Barry

Question:

200 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Education if sanction has been granted for an extension to a school (details supplied) in County Cork; if so, if plans have been drawn up; the funds that have been allocated; and when is it anticipated that work will commence. [16053/95]

Máirín Quill

Question:

237 Miss Quill asked the Minister for Education when sanction will be given for the extension and refurbishment of a school (details supplied) in County Cork. [16322/95]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 200 and 237 together. Plans for an extension to this school were submitted to my Department recently by the board of management. The plans are currently being assessed and I expect that this task will be completed within the next fortnight. My Department will then make contact with the school authorities. Pending completion of the assessment of the plans, I cannot give an undertaking regarding timescale and funding for the proposed extension. However I am conscious of the need to resolve the accommodation difficulties at the school as soon as possible.
