Written Answers. - Land Registry Delays.

M. J. Nolan

Question:

262 Mr. Nolan asked the Minister for Justice the reason for the delay in the Land Registry in expediting draft folio (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. [16256/95]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that Dealing No. J1498/95 is an application for first registration which was lodged in the Land Registry on 6 March 1995. I am further informed that the dealing is in its final stages of completion and that registration should be finalised within eight weeks. The new folio number will be 16544F Carlow.

Michael Ring

Question:

263 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice if she will expedite registration of lands (details supplied) in the Land Registry in view of the fact that the owner of the land is undergoing severe hardship as a result of the delay in registration in this case. [16257/95]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that schedule No. 92657 refers to a purchase agreement between the Land Commission and the applicant. The Land Commission schedule was vested in the applicant on 30 June 1995 and was lodged in the Land Registry on 10 July 1995. The property which is the subject of this schedule is deemed to be registered as of the date of vesting by the Land Commission, i.e. 30 June 1995.

In view of the circumstances outlined by the Deputy, I have asked the Registrar of Titles to expedite registration in this case. I am informed that in the event of no queries being raised, registration in the Land Registry should be completed within the next three weeks.
