275 Mr. D. McDowell asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of people claiming unemployment benefit or assistance who are in receipt of adult dependant allowance; and the number of adult dependants who are working part time and earning less than £60 per week. [16387/95]

Minister for Social Welfare (Proinsias De Rossa):

Of a total of 265,245 people who were in receipt of an unemployment payment at the end of June 1995, an estimated 68,970 were in receipt of an adult dependant allowance.

Statistics are not maintained on the number of adult dependants who were working part-time and earning less than £60 per week.
