Question:

180 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Agriculture. Food and Forestry if pregnant cows who test positive for bovine TB are sent for slaughter; and his policy in this regard. [17146/95]

Pregnant cows which are close to calving and which have tested positive for bovine TB are not suitable for slaughter. Such animals continue to be treated as reactor and remain on the farm in isolation until calving.
