Vol. 458 No. 5

Written Answers. - Wheelchair Accessible Bus Routes.

Robert Molloy

Question:

192 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications which bus routes now offer wheelchair accessible facilities; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17447/95]

I understand that at present the only fixed-route bus service in the State offering full wheelchair accessibility to the general public is the experimental Omnilink service, route 222, operated by Bus Átha Cliath, which links the wheelchair-accessible DART service at Tara Street with the O'Connell Street and St. Stephen's Green areas. The position regarding the Omnilink project and wheelchair accessible public transport services generally was set out in my comprehensive reply to Questions Nos. 25, 26 and 29 on 12 October last.
