Vol. 458 No. 6

Written Answers. - Parliamentary Questions Cost.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

51 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Finance if he will give a breakdown of the cost of £64 per parliamentary question answered in Dáil Éireann as stated by the Minister of State at his Department in Dáil Éireann on 25 October 1995; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17465/95]

The figure of £64 per question was calculated in February 1992 by applying increases in the general level of inflation to a base figure of £40 which emerged as the average cost of answering a parliamentary question following an extensive survey in 1982.
