Vol. 459 No. 7

Written Answers. - Youth Organisation Resources.

Brendan Smith

Question:

35 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the concern of voluntary youth organisations in relation to the inadequate resources made available by the Government to provide youth services throughout the country; if she will have these concerns taken into account in finalising the total allocation for youth services in 1996; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [18808/95]

I am fully aware of the needs of the voluntary youth organisations who continue to provide a service which is an integral part of the education process. I can assure the Deputy that every effort will be made to address the financial needs of these organisations in 1996, bearing in mind the overall funds available to me and the many competing demands and commitments.
